A scholarship document checklist is useful only when it matches the scheme you are applying to. Regional financial aid can examine household circumstances as well as academic conditions. A merit award can ask different questions. Start with the current call and identify the exact applicant category before collecting papers.

Your preparation at a glance
  1. Read evidence rules
  2. Collect authentic records
  3. Track submission

Identify the authority and academic year

Save the official notice, the responsible body’s contact details and your application deadline. Keep amendments and FAQs with the original call. Another region’s instructions, an old video or a friend’s successful application do not prove what your own award body requires.

ER.GO’s economic-requirements FAQ explains the treatment of overseas income and assets in its process, including relevant documentation and translation/legalisation instructions. Use this as an example of scheme-specific evidence, not as a universal list for all Italian awards.

Organise evidence into clear folders

Folder What to check in the call
Identity and applicant category Who is applying and which route applies
Academic status Admission, enrolment, progress or merit evidence
Household circumstances Who must be included and the reference period
Financial records Income, assets and the accepted issuing authorities
Formalities Translations, certification, legalisation and submission format

Resolve the difficult instruction early

If the call asks for a record your country does not issue in the named form, ask the award body what it accepts. Describe the document you can obtain and its issuing authority. Keep the written answer. Do not replace a requested record with a self-made statement unless the instructions explicitly allow that approach.

As an illustrative workflow, one applicant may have all academic records ready but still need a household-income certificate and a translation. Mark the missing tasks and their lead times before polishing optional supporting material. A simple tracker can prevent a formal requirement from being overlooked.

Check thresholds and payment conditions in the right place

The Italian ministry’s right-to-study page publishes annual framework documents. The operational call for your institution or region remains essential for how to apply. Do not turn a national framework figure into a promise that you will receive a particular award.

Review the final dossier

Compare names, dates, currencies and reference periods across records. Check that files are legible and meet the requested format. Submit through the official channel and retain a receipt. Where the process permits corrections, record the correction deadline; do not assume every omission can be repaired after submission.

Should I upload personal financial records to a general website tool?

No. Our pre-checker asks you to review tasks and does not request documents. Send evidence only through the verified channel required by the award body.

Read the scholarship routes guide before building the dossier.

ER.GO checks two economic indicators

ER.GO’s economic FAQ says that both ISEE and ISPE must fall below the respective call thresholds. Checking household income alone is insufficient: assets also matter. For income or assets held solely abroad, the FAQ describes official supporting records, translation and legalisation. Use the current call for the required reference period and submission deadline; this example does not define another region’s dossier.
